JDBTunnel is a JDBC driver that uses firewall tunneling to connect to your JDBC-compatible database using the HTTP protocol. JDBTunnel simplifies application deployment by eliminating the need to open a special firewall port for your client's database usage.

JDBTunnel is highly-optimized for performance. It is able to run on top of an existing web or application server, or it can run in stand-alone mode. While port 80 is most common, it can be configured to use other ports if required.

JDBTunnel is a pure Java product and operates on any Java enabled platform.
