Content Extractor is a heavy duty tool that will extract useful content from html, htm, php and txt files. The result files are saved in plain txt format. The tool can be helpful for web builders looking for content for their Web sites.

Content Extractor features
  • Option "Search files" which checks number and types of files in source directory, and subdirectories of the directory, seems to be frozen during work. This is normal, to get the job done faster, and program is not suspended. The effect can be visible for number of files higher than several thousands - estimated time is about 10-30 seconds for over 50 000 files. There is waiting time for opening folders containing thousands files, as well.
  • Progress bar starts to work for number of total files greater than 100. The range on the progress bar is real - the end 100% is reached only at the end of the extraction process.
    ·If the cutoff strings in Fast Cutter - up 100 characters length - contain html tags, the tags should be closed with < and > characters. For instance the string 2">Article is invalid one, whereas Article can be used as cutoff string, because html tags are closed with < and > characters.
  • "Fast Cutter" can extract content up to over 6 times faster than the extractor.
  • The maximal length of keywords or words to be excluded is 100 characters.
  • Files saved by extractor have prefix as written in the keyword 1 box.
  • Prefix of files in Fast Cutter is set up independently.
  • Html/htm/php/txt files for extraction not always have proper html semantics, so it is possible sometimes to find unnecessary characters and empty lines in the result files.
  • The size of source files taken for extraction is from 200 up to 200 000 bytes as default. However it is possible to set the limits with 200 bytes increments – see the number controls under Source Folder. Result file will be saved if its size is equal or greater than 60 bytes – that is more or less one line of text.
  • After extraction process the software automatically restarts. This is normal and prepares the software for next task.
