DHTMLSpy is a useful application which can be used as a debugging or learning tool for Web page designers and can also connect to any IE browser instance on the desktop and allows for viewing the content of embedded and external scripts and style sheets as well as the DHTML of the page.

It is also able to perform searches in all referenced resources like style sheet files and scripts including searching into sub frames and iframes resources.

DHTMLSpy features
  • Browser Highlighter locates the related HTML code for any web content by simply pressing and holding the key while moving the mouse over that particular content.
  • Browser Highlighter identifies the web content in the browser that is related to any selected element in the DHTMLSpy's HTML View.
  • View content of embedded and external document resources like CSS and Scripts in the syntax colored Code View.
  • Launch searches to locate items in embedded content as well as external files like CSS and Scripts. Includes options for searching in attributes only or restricting searches to page text only or CSS and Scripts etc...
  • COM Interface Definition View allows you to see the exposed OLE methods on embedded and scriptable objects
  • Property View shows the properties and their values for DHTML elements including their styles and positioning information. Another Property View shows DOM properties for Document, Window and Location objects.
  • Browser and Document Event Views with event filters allow for tracking events and showing any event arguments where applicable.
  • Hot referencing in all views. Every search item in the Search Results View when clicked will take you directly to that item’s source. Events logged in the Document and Browser Event Views when selected will highlight the Elements or Document context corresponding to them.
  • Save a Web Page and its resources to disk for offline work. Better than the browser's own built in "Save As..." feature.
  • Save specific items to disk like a Script or CSS file or any HTML code snippet you find interesting and your choose to save.
