I wrote this program to save me and a friend of mine many hours while making MPEG files, that in some cases did not fit on to a DVD. So feel free to try Trixon DU. Although Trixon DU is under development, BBC, BRC, CPG & TBO are fully functional.
Trixon DU is a useful program that consists of modules, so far, there are 5 of them.
BBC - Bit Bytes Calc
Convert between bits and bytes as you like.
BRC - Bitrate Calculator
With BRC, you can easily change/calculate
Audio bitrate (if any)
Video bitrate
Length
File size
and see the file results, before you encode your MPEG files, and you do not have to re-encode them. BRC is a real time saver for me. BRC was primarily written to be used with Adobe Premiere Pro and MainConcept encoders. If you use VBR, think of BRC's video bitrate as your target/average bitrate.
What do I think of CBR vs VBR? Space is cheap, time and quality are not! I use only CBR.
9Mb/s CBR is always faster and better than 9Mb/s VBR.
CIA - Convert It All
This one is under development. But you can still convert Areas, Distance, Mass, Temperature, Time and Volumes. Flow and Speed will be added.
CPG - Chapterpoint Generator
CPG generates a text file, cue sheet, that can be used with GUI for dvdauthor, or other programs to create chapters (PTT, Part of Title) at specific intervals. I use CPG to make DVD chapters for my MPEG slide show.
TBO - Time Between Occasions
Calculate how many seconds / minutes / hours / days / weeks / months / years there are between to occasions. Or, you can from one occasion add/sub a number of seconds / minutes / hours / days / weeks / months / years an see when the result will be.
