Mobile phones normally require a Midi file to be of type 0. There is also the problem that even if a Midi is already type 0 it contains a lot of information, textual and otherwise, that is irrelevant to usage in a mobile phone.

MidiSqueezer not only converts to type 0 but also removes the fat found in most files leaving you with a Midi that's well suited to download to a wireless device.
