Why is MidToMid making all that noise? Well, partly because of endorsement by Bono (U2) and Bon Jovi.
Naturally, when these famed musicians chose small indie conversion engine over heavy-weight titles with big advertisement budgets, the music industry media picked the story up. But the real reason why more and more musicians switch to MidToMid is the unique capabilities it offers. For example, the program can perform partial conversions.
This means that a user specifies a fragment of the file he or she needs to convert, presses one button – and that’s it. There is no reason to convert the entire file and then cut out a desired fragment.
MidToMid supports all popular MIDI file types - MIDI 1, RIFF MIDI 0, MIDI 0, RIFF MIDI 1 and MIDI Karaoke, offering a wide range of “tweaking” options.
The program comes with own sequencer engine that handles import and export of MIDI files (Type0 and Type1). A lot of time and efforts invested in development of the engine resulted in excellent processing speeds and outstanding quality results, thanks to unique algorithms used.
MidToMid offers batch conversion options and command line support, which are two essential features for “heavy” users, like record studios, sound engineers, radio stations and professional musicians.
MidToMid’s interface is very simple and straightforward.
On the left hand side there is a file tree that allows users to select files and folders to be processed. Then, there is output format and output folder boxes. Naturally, there are playback and sound volume controls, as well as advanced settings for professional users.
