Silicon Slate Software is a computer lab management software and desktop management software for k-12 school computer labs and classrooms.

Silicon Slate computer lab management software consists of:

  • A manager program that is used for communicating with and managing of the workstations.

  • A desktop management program for the workstations in your computer laboratory or class.

  • A portable version of the desktop program that runs from a USB Flash Drive for home and away from school use.

    With Silicon Slate Manager you can create quizzes and assignments that can be completed at school or at home by your students. Quizzes and assignments can be completed on computer lab or classroom PC’s, or passed out as files to students using USB flash drives.

    Quizzes, assignments, and class notes can also be printed and handed out. You can send messages that are seen on all of your computer lab workstations, or you can create class notes that are sent to your students USB flash drive as files.

    You can distribute other types of files such as wordprocessor documents that can be be worked on inside or outside of school. From the Silicon Slate Manager program, you can switch your lab workstation’s Silicon Slate Desktop program’s screen mode from sizable to full screen, disable or enable Silicon Slate Desktops setup and exit buttons, and shut down the Silicon Slate Desktop workstation program.

    Silicon Slate Desktop is desktop management software that you install on your school’s computer lab or classroom PC’s. Silicon Slate Desktop simplifies the management of your schools computer lab or class by presenting a simple and controllable user interface to your students. Students can launch programs from a menu of programs you set up, or work on quizzes, assignments, or files that are sent to the workstations from the Silicon Slate Manager program.

    Silicon Slate Portable is a stripped down version of the Silicon Slate Desktop program that your students can use when they are away from school. It is installed on, and runs from, a students USB flash drive. The Silicon Slate Portable program can be used to work on assignments and other files that are on the student
