ScanOUT is a low cost scanner software that serves as an alternative to bundled scanner programs and applications with limited functionality.

ScanOUT provides a quick and convenient way of directly scanning paper documents into your computer, as TIFF, Postscript or PDF files. It currently doesn't support OCR (optical character recognition).

ScanOUT features
  • Flexible Interface - Has a simple yet powerful wizard-like interface that makes acquiring, organizing, editing and archiving easy for both beginners and power users.

  • Image editor - Includes a simple yet convenient editor that allows you to scale, rotate, crop and modify pages individually before saving your final document.

  • Import from popular file formats - Existing disk files saved as TIF, JPG, GIF, PCX, BMP, TGA can be merged together or combined with new scanned pages.

  • Ouput to PDF - Scanned images can be stored as highly compressed PDF files with built-in pdf property information (author, title, etc) without the need for any version of Adobe Acrobat.

  • Multipage support - Scan several pages at once and save them all together into a single multipage TIFF or PDF file.

  • Session saving - Save currently working session for later reuse and divide your work throughout different periods of time by retrieving saved sessions.

  • Scan without the default interface - Has it's own acquiring interface allowing you to take advantage of personalized settings unavailable with your standard scanner window.
