RenPrinters application is a service for Windows Server 2003 that will rename printers installed by Terminal Service clients.
When a TS Client logs in to the server their printer is installed on the system in the following format:
HP LaserJet 5 (from Client) in Session 10
Every time a client logs in to the TS the "Session" number in the printer name will change. This causes a problem in some programs that require the printer name to remain exactly the same.
The RenPrinters service will execute every 60 seconds and will remove all of the name information to the right of the original printer name. Thus, in this example, renaming the above printer to:
HP LaserJet 5 from Client
