Kwik Grader features
You will find Kwik Grader easier to use compared to other grade book programs. Print out the tutorial which is included in the help files.
Automatic file handling. You select the class you wish to work with rather than entering file names.
Names and ID's may be entered either manually or via a scanner and an OCR program. I scan the class list provided by the Studies Director and use TextBridge OCR program to provide a list of names and ID numbers. I then save the list to a text file which can then be read by Kwik Grader. It takes a few minutes for each class.
Random sorting of scores for posting based on the students' ID number.
Print preview
Prints progress reports and failure warning (deficiency) notices to parents in about a minute per student, with print preview. You may add your own comments. The report includes all the student's scores.
Progress Reports and failure warning reports can be sent to Microsoft Word for editing. From Microsoft Word, you may save the document in a variety of formats, and then E-mail the report(s) to parents.
In addition to the above reports, Kwik Grader includes the following: class scores report, grade distribution reports, individual grade lists, individual report cards, class report cards, and a missing assignment report. All with print preview!
Includes a seating chart program. Create a seating chart in about 2 minutes with student names and ID numbers, or use "automatic seating" to create a chart in seconds.
Also includes a roll book program whose purpose is to print out the students' names with a grid for entering scores. If you still wish to maintain a written grade book, no more crossing out names of dropped students, and no more setting up a rollbook for recording grades!
Uses either category averaging, or you may weight the individual task. You may easily change the percentages or task weights at any time. You can also switch methods at any time if you wish. Raw scores can be converted to percentages. "Interim" grades are automatically calculated when using "category" averaging and percentages do not total 100.
You can set up your own categories for any subject area.
Easy to enter scores. Kwik Grader accepts both numerical and letter grade input, which you may freely intermix if you wish. You set up a task list beforehand (number of tests, quizzes etc., which can be modified at any time and reused for your other classes - a time saver!), so that you can quickly enter scores. It is not necessary to use every item in your task list. Kwik Grader accepts two letter grade configurations: A to F with plus and minuses or A to F without plus or minuses.
A 32 bit program, designed for Windows 95/98/NT. If your school wishes to network the program, please contact me. There is a network version available for Windows NT and a site license available.
Program is configured for an academic year divided into four quarters, or four quarters and two semesters. Kwik Grader also accepts a four quarter final exam configuration. Allowance is made for a semester exam if you wish. If your district uses a different configuration, feel free to contact me, and I may be able to make modifications. For colleges and universities: the program also accepts a two semester configuration. You may also enter scores using a 4 point scale used in many colleges and universities.
Print out graphs of quarter or semester scores.
In-cell editing of scores makes it simple to change scores.
Accepts an "NA" designation as a score for absent students. This means that the score will not be averaged in until the student makes up the assignment.
