Discalog is the cross-platform disk cataloguing tool.

There are versions for Macintosh OS9, OSX and Windows (XP, 2000 or better). Once you have catalogued your disks, you can search Discalog's database to quickly find files you're looking for. Discalog will tell you the name of the file, the disk (or other type of media) that it's on, and where you have stored that disk.

Discalog features
  • Create your own Category List
  • Assign File Types to Categories
  • Catalog all files on a disk, or only files in specific Categories
  • "Keywords" are automatically created from the file names as disks are catalogued
  • Keywords can also be created automatically from the folder names
  • Keywords can be specified for all files on a disk
  • Search your files by keyword, category, create/modify date, comments
  • "De-Dupe" facility to find duplicate files by file name
  • A database can be used on both Macintosh and Windows: combine your catalog of Macintosh and Windows disks into one database
  • The File Type Detective tells you important information about one specific file, or all files on a disk
  • Set up Locations to tell you the physical location of each disk that you catalog
  • Save thumbnails of images that you catalogue
