Distances are calculated "as the crow flies" and are provided in miles. You can also get a list of zip codes that lie within a given distance of a target zip code.

  • ZipCodeDistance(zip1, zip2) returns the distance in miles between two zipcodes in the United States. The format of the zipcodes can be 5 digit, zip+4, or you can drop a leading zero.
  • ZipCodesWithinDistance(zipcode, distance) returns a list of zipcodes that lie within the specified distance of the target zipcode and the distances to each of those zipcodes. The zipcodes returned are sorted by distance from the target zipcode, with the closest zipcodes listed first.
  • When you install Spheresoft ZipCode Tools, you will find two sample Excel files installed in C:Program FilesSpheresoftZipCodeToolssamples that illustrates the use of these functions.
