Compress Content works using an enhanced implementation of Zlib public library compiled with a highly efficient closed Runtime Library that targets an optimized use of the modern cpu superscalar pipeline offering a 300% speedup versus standard solutions.
Further, Compress Content works keeping the remote connection, supporting the full HTTP 1.1 pipelining (some solutions convert the output in Chunked Encoding and breaking TCP pipelining, lowering the overall TCP subsystem efficiency and requiring more bandwidth for every I/O request due to the TCP handshake).
Compress Content permits to save bandwidth by compressing in realtime all the dynamic webpages produced by your backend as ASP.NET and, if you wish, every document file sent from your webserver. The web publisher that pays connectivity upon consumption can save money, because tipically the result of the compression is a document weight 300% lower versus the original. Further all the users, especially who own 56K modem connectivity, may feel better response time of the provided services, loading web pages in a third of the time.
Our implementation is particularly designed for who serves dynamic contents. How to INSTALL:
1) create the folder "C:Program FilesSmartIISCC" then unzip the content of the zip inside it
2) open web management applet from Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> IIS Manager OR
2A) open it from executing Start Menu -> Run -> "IIS.msc" (press Enter key)
3) right click on "Application Pools" and select "Properties"
3A) select "Identity" and change security account to "Local system" or with an account that has grant read permission
for the folder at above point 1
3B) in alternative you can create a new Pool with different rights from the global one, and associate it exclusively to CC
4) right click on "Web sites" and select "Properties"
4A) select "Isapi filters" and add the CompressContentTrial.DLL file found in the folder at above point 1 in executable field pressing "Add" button,
on filter name field put "CC" (or whatever name you wish)
5) now open a cmd command line from Start Menu -> Run -> "Cmd" (press Enter key) and type this command "IISReset" followed
by Enter key; now you will see the filter working
6) can close all windows opened following the above procedure
